Nighttime Stories is the latest and long awaited post metal album from Chicago instrumentalists Pelican. The music is an all out assault on the bands personal battles and life struggles against anguish, bereavement and despair, obliterating it all into smoldering plumes of triumphant purpose. Mournful mind bending guitar leads weave in and out between massive riffs and driving drum rhythms bringing the listener on a hazy ride through dense atmospheres filled with sonic determination and perseverance.
